productivity tip #1:
first, get your HR’s house in order
Any HR department that operates efficiently can help its business doing the same. “Efficiency” is all about reaching optimal outcomes in a timely and resourceful manner, as well as streamlining trivial tasks so that you can devote time on real complex issues. To do that:
Embrace automation.
Take every opportunity to automate as many basic functions as possible. Technology can help tackling administrative tasks like time tracking, payroll and hr administration at increasingly affordable rates.
Don’t spend without a good reason.
That said, don’t assume you need to purchase new tools to handle basic functions. Use an HR platform. Even for small businesses, HR information systems (HRIS) are quite affordable, and thus it is quite realistic to consider, than they were 5 years ago. They’ll facilitate the chores of compiling, calculating, tracking and analyzing workforce data. This will be of great help for your HR specialist to identify efficiency challenges and build business cases for solutions across the HR department, and your company as a whole.
Keep an open mind.
Be open to new ways of doing things. ” We have recently implemented the Electronic Labour File solution, and we certainly have no regrets! Our whole team likes it, and finds it very useful.” says Bilyana Velcheva, People operations and country director at Fourth Bulgaria, a software development company. Ultimately, we are collaborating so that all labour files at Fourth are stored electronically, all in one place for each employee.
