If a change in the place of work results in a change in the EKATTE code, an electronic employment record must be submitted within three days of the change.

Examples:

If the employee has been working remotely from an address in Sofia and will continue working remotely from another address in Sofia, no submission is required, since the EKATTE code for Sofia (68134) remains unchanged.

If the employee has been working remotely from two addresses—one in Sofia and one in Burgas, and will now work from two other cities, such as Vidin and Varna, no change in EKATTE code occurs, as working from more than one locality still requires the general code: 00000 (until June 1, 2025) or 99999 (after June 1, 2025).

If the employee has been working from two localities (Sofia and Burgas) and will now work only from Sofia, this does constitute a change in EKATTE code (from “00000”/“99999” to “68134”), and an electronic employment record must be submitted.
