We would like to use the opportunity to inform you that the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy adopted a new National Classification of the Professions and Positions, which is effective as of 1 January 2011. The new classification introduced changes in the names and the codes of some job positions and the employers are obliged, not later than 30 June 2011, to implement respective revisions in their documentation and in the individual employment contracts, in order to achieve compliance with the new classification. According to the instructions issued by the minister of labour and social policy, in case there is a change in the name of the respective position, then an annex has to be executed between the employer and the employee for changing the position and afterwards the employer should submit a notification as per the applicable procedure to the National Revenue Agency of the change in the employee’s position. In case that the name of the position remains unchanged, but the new classification provides only for a change in the code for the position, no annex will be needed and the employer should only make the necessary amendments in its internal documentation, e.g. the charter of staff, etc.
