Introduction: Hello! We are now in the office of Sb Accounting & Consulting – one of the top leading professional services companies in Bulgaria and we are delighted to have the opportunity to speak to Mr. Bogdan Georgiev, who is working as a Business Development Manager in the company. We will be talking about Sb Accounting & Consulting’s history, services provided and corporate values. So let us start with the questions, Hello Bogdan! How are you? Thank you for having us!

Question 1: Would you please tell us a little bit more about Sb Accounting & Consulting story? Could you give us some more details about when the company was established and basically how everything started?

Bogdan Georgiev: Sb Accounting & Consulting was established in 1989 in Sofia, which makes us one of the oldest accounting practices on the Bulgarian market. We are very solidly experienced in servicing especially foreign companies from varied industries which invest and operate on the Bulgarian market. Being one of the first on the market makes us proud of all our achievements but it also makes us feel responsible for constantly keeping up the high standards we set on the market. It is our top priority to be always up to date with the constantly changing regulations on the market, to be always close to our clients’ needs and goals (by providing them with a professional key account management) and ultimately to help them feel that by working with us they have a partner they can trust and rely on. The good and successful accounting practice does not restrict only into calculating tones of numbers, processing invoices and bookkeeping. In order to be of real assistance to the clients we go beyond this activities, we truly get to know their business objectives, priorities and inspirations.

Question 2: This all sounds very appealing to me. Would you please tell us a bit more about Sb team? Who are the people who stand behind all this?

Bogdan Georgiev: Our team consists of twenty two people, divided into different divisions for the purpose of better and more efficient servicing. We have got separate departments for all the services that we offer and these are departments of accounting & internal audit, payroll & personnel, tax & fiscal compliance, IT and marketing & business development. All of the people who work in Sb, regardless of their area of expertise, are proven and well educated professionals, with substantial experience and solid knowledge into the matters they are responsible for. Considering the fact that our clients are 100% with foreign capitals, all the members of our team have excellent command of English and some of them are fluent in German, French and Russian.

Question 3: You already pointed out the main areas of expertise that Sb is covering. But there are numerous professional services companies that are offering the same services. What do you think is the Sb’s strongest advantage over the rest of the companies offering the same services? What makes Sb stand out of the crowd?

Bogdan Georgiev: We believe that we are a truly different type of accounting company. A type that is much more involved into our clients’ businesses and therefore most of our clients have been working with us for more than ten years. What makes us different? First, it is the people who work in Sb. As I already mentioned our team is highly experienced and trained into being dedicated to clients and their businesses. This naturally leads to a personally tailored service to every client by providing a professional key account management. It is our firm belief that our job does not end with accomplishing the financial papers, it is the attitude and the assistance you provide on the day-to-day basis that count. And last, but definitely not least, our professional competency, because the last thing that a company wants to go through is to be involved with an accountant who is not sure what he/she is doing. A wrong advice coming from such practices can sometimes cause irreversible damages to business.

Question 4: We have already talked about Sb Accounting & Consulting’s past. But how do you see your company in the next, let’s say 5 years? What are your professional plans for the future?

Bogdan Georgiev: Sb has very ambitious and pro-active future plans regarding the direction towards which we are willing to develop. Of course all our goals and objectives start and end with our clients and their businesses. In order to continuously improve our service we are planning to keep on growing by expanding our existing network of partners and associates. So far we have been reliable partners and representatives to many of the worldwide leaders in our field like: ADP – the world’s biggest payroll provider, ALLIOTT GROUP – one of the biggest associations for accounting practices in the world, Accace – one of the biggest Slovak accounting practices with international scope of activity, Intrum – a leader into the tax matters. At the moment we are in negotiation with other international companies which probable future co-operations will additionally strengthen our international position and further develop our expertise and experience.

Question 5: And finally, what do you want to say to the people who are interested in starting a business in Bulgaria and are looking for a professional assistance with their financial matters? Why should they choose Sb?

Bogdan Georgiev: Well, first of all, I believe that it must be mentioned how important the decision of choosing a professional services provider is, regardless whether you are looking for accounting, tax, payroll or some other service. We realize how responsible our job is and we take it very seriously. So if you let me give a piece of advice to businessmen who are about to choose an accounting, tax or payroll provider in Bulgaria, I would tell them to look for a company which is experienced, reliable and friendly and I am saying friendly because we are proud and particularly happy that over the years we managed not only to serve our customers in a highly professional manner, but also to become their trusted partners and friends.
